The Mount Olivet Choir is the main ensemble supporting traditional worship at Mount Olivet. We welcome anyone who likes to sing, high school-age and up, with any level of ability. Whether you’re a seasoned saint or a rank beginner, we have a place for you in the choir. The Choir sings each week for our traditional worship services and presents occasional special programs.
Each year our amazing youth and a team of dedicated volunteers produce and stage a family friendly production to raise money to support our mission work both at home and abroad. This production is meant to serve as a community building ministry that builds confidence and compassion through story-telling, fun, and laughter.
Better together is a group of Mount Olivet folks who are concerned for our democracy and the civil rights of all. We meet occasionally after church and share information on ways to contribute to cause.
Mount Olivet has a strong Christian education program for preschool and elementary school-aged children. We meet to have fun and learn about God's love for us and our friends.

Mount Olivet has a large group of people 65+ who are active in all aspects of the church. All are invited to join in any of the Senior Adult activities which are open to all seniors, regardless of church membership!
Through environmental stewardship, we help Mount Olivet and our congregation to act in an environmentally conscious manner in: Worship, Service, Mission and Church Activities.
This lively discussion group meets on a short-term basis at various times throughout the year, typically for 5-6 weeks at a time.

Two children or youth each Sunday lead the choir procession into the church and bring the light of Christ into the sanctuary. They light the candles on the altar and assist with communion. This is a chance for your child to take a visible and active part in the worship experience. Training is provided and monthly schedules arranged at your availability.
Welcome, assist, and advocate for refugees and immigrants. Known publicly as NOVA Friends of Refugees, we help families, share information, and hold community events, such as immigrant ally training. Volunteers help families with rent and transportation.
Join our team of Communion Stewards in the sacred task of preparing the bread and cup for our worship services. It’s a meaningful, behind-the-scenes way to practice hospitality and ensure the Lord’s Table is ready for all who seek God’s grace.
The purpose of serving in the ushering ministry is to praise God and enable worshippers to do the same by assisting with the logistical details of worship. Ushers create an atmosphere of hospitality by arriving early and providing bulletins to arriving worshippers, guiding them to available seats, taking attendance, guiding collection plates to receive the offering, and handling post-service needs, including putting Bibles and hymnals back into place for the next service.
Once a month come and enjoy a light supper with opportunities to fill bags distributed to our Community Assistance guests. Previous offerings have included personal care kits, mittens and socks and back to school supplies for children. This is a perfect opportunity for families with children to enjoy a service opportunity together while having an evening of fun.
Every fall, our Christmas for Others ministry gears up - identifying recipients, placing announcements, creating a giving tree with tags from which members may choose gifts to give, distributing gifts once received. Join this team and you will add to the joy of your holiday season as you guarantee a Merry Christmas for a host of recipients.
Manage the soundboard and audio system for both/either the sanctuary and fellowship hall. No prior experience is necessary, as we provide full training on all systems to ensure our message and music are heard clearly by everyone.
Help end hunger! For more than 40 years, Mount Olivet has fielded a team in this annual 6K event in October to support food programs locally and globally. You can support the event by walking and finding donors to sponsor you, or by being a donor.
This group is responsible for preparing the sanctuary for service on Sunday mornings. Many of the tasks can be performed prior to Sunday and may require only a small time commitment.
Coffee might seem like a small thing. Sure, someone can bring coffee from home or stop at a coffee shop on the way to church, but the ministry of hospitality is something we cannot take lightly. From welcoming a first time visitor to lifting someone's spirit after a rough morning a warm cup of coffee on Sunday morning is a way our congregation can welcome people who walk through our doors. Help the immigrant community become active contributing citizens by learning English. Classes are offered in fall and spring semesters and training provided for new volunteers. One evening a week is the usual commitment.
Mount Olivet is looking for new members of our Liturgist crew for Traditional Worship. Liturgists help lead worship by focusing on congregational participation, reading scripture, and leading prayers. They help facilitate the flow of service, often including the Call to Worship and Opening Prayer . If you are interested, send an email to Cindy Huber. We are so excited to be together in-person, learning about God! We need volunteers to teach Sunday School and Children's Church, especially grades 1-5. We do this as a team, so if there is a week you cannot attend, one of the other teachers can lead. Please contact Linnea Carlson with any questions.
We invite you to join our team of Sunday morning greeters! Every week at Mount Olivet, worshipers are greeted as they enter the building. Greeters answer questions, share a smile, and serve as the first face many see when they arrive at Mount Olivet.
We're looking for folks to run the livestream camera at the Traditional Worship services on Sunday mornings at 11 AM! You will stand at the camera to zoom in, zoom out, and pan around in order to give our livestream viewers the best experience at home! Training is provided whenever you're available. You can serve as often as you'd like.
